Sunday Stills #4

I've always loved northern lights.   Mystical and magical.   They're difficult to take pics of and quite often the results are lost in translation between what your eye sees and what the camera captures.   Technology helps sometimes.   And while I've had better pictures of northern lights, I've never seen them line up so straight before, and because they're magic, that straight line only lasted for a second.  Taken on an LG G7 ThinQ in manual using my car as a tripod.

Streets and roads could not have been a better theme for me this week!  There was a major forest fire north of the city I work in and it shut down the highway for a better part of the week.  The detour I was taking took me onto a ferry coming and going as well.   Until I lost access to it as well and ended up taking yet a third option.  At any rate, the fire is contained, My highway has been reopened and loss of property was at a minimum thanks to the hard working people who are there to protect us.  This picture was taken along my highway on the first night of the fire.   Yes, there is a highway there, you can see the headlights of a distant vehicle.

When I was aiming my phone at random things for week number one, I was at one of my favourite hardware type stores when I saw these mini cement mixers.   I don't need one, but I thought they were cool and I loved the colour of them.   I wasn't sure they were right for the first week's challenge, but when I saw that week #2 was "favourite colour",  I was pretty sure I'd use it.   And while I don't usually take something in portrait, I like the way they were lined up.   Taken on an LG G7 ThinQ.

While space exploration is a fairly new thing for humankind, the stars have always been fuel for our imagination and dreams.  The stars seem like a destination, but they can be a starting point as well.  An inspiration to strive for something.  Taken with an LG G7 Thinq on a chilly night in may.
